I wasn't just checking into passing plays. My coaches gave me that responsibility because they were confident I would make the right decision. * Strong talking to The Draft Network: "My pre-snap abilities and mental processing are definitely a strength of my game. "Long story short, I got a tire change on cartilage." "A joke I've been telling teams is, 'I've never jammed a finger, I've never rolled an ankle, but I've had two knee surgeries,'" Strong said. One of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft, Strong is refreshingly honest and even humorous about a procedure that will certainly draw high scrutiny from 32 medical teams during pre-draft evaluations. After having cartilage repaired in a 2017 procedure that cost him his senior season at the high school level, Strong underwent another surgery last year to replace his own cartilage with that of a cadaver.

* NFL.com on Strong: "Nevada quarterback Carson Strong insists his right knee feels fine, but he knows questions about it will persist as the draft process continues. Surveying scouts about his projected draft range, many want to see how clean the medicals come back, but Round 2 was the feedback I consistently received." The medical reports around him will be the biggest narrative - he has had some knee issues - but the arm strength and quick processing are evident.

Strong had an up-and-down week, and his ball placement has been the most concerning area. At his best during the 7-on-7 stage of practice, Strong's top pass of the day came on an out route to Bo Melton (Rutgers), throwing it on a line. With scouts straddling the out-of-bounds lines and end zones of the field, many were wowed by the up-close view of his arm talent, but his scattershot accuracy remained his biggest issue. * ESPN's Jordan Reid on Strong's third practice: "With no worries of weather, Strong's passes seemed to have the most velocity of any of the National team quarterbacks Thursday. The ability is there, but scouts will need to see more consistency." Of all the quarterbacks, his performance was the most up and down this week. * ESPN's Todd McShay on Strong's three practices: "We outlined the top-four quarterbacks above, but what about the other two? Nevada's Carson Strong made a few nice deep-ball throws, but mobility is going to be a challenge for him (though he appeared more mobile this week than he had on tape), and his short-to-intermediate accuracy was all over the place. Here are some of the reports I've culled from draft analysts. Turner showed his ball skills, and from the action I saw, held up well while run blocking. Doubs struggled at times to get off the line, but he also posted the third-fastest in-practice time of any player at the game, hitting 21.25 miles per hour on a deep route. Certainly, Strong would like a re-do on that pass. In particular, his interception during the Senior Bowl was well underthrown in the direction of Doubs, who was about 2 yards past the cornerback in coverage. Strong looked more mobile and fluid moving around, 75 days removed from his last game, but didn't show the pinpoint accuracy we saw at Nevada, a surprise given he was the only FBS quarterback to complete at least 70 percent of his passes in 20. My feel is Doubs had the best showing, Turner did some good things and Strong showed flashes of why many love his potential, namely his arm strength and smarts, while struggling with accuracy at times. Willis, Pickett and Ridder were identified by NFL.com as having the best weeks of the quarterbacks. He's the top projected quarterback in ESPN's newest mock draft released today (more on that later). From watching the television coverage on NFL Network and reading every media report I could find on the practices/game, Willis had the best showing of the quarterbacks. Willis was voted the American team's top quarterback during practices. Pickett was selected in a vote of defensive teammates as the National Team's top quarterback during practices last week (Strong was on the National Team). * Malik Willis: 2-of-4, 11 yards four rushes for 54 yards * Sam Howell: 6-of-9, 67 yards five rushes for 29 yards and a touchdown * Bailey Zappe: 8-of-13, 103 yards, one interception * Desmond Ridder: 4-of-6, 68 yards, two touchdowns three rushes for 12 yards * Kenny Pickett: 6-of-6, 89 yards, one touchdown

Here is how the non-Strong quarterbacks fared in the game. * Cole Turner: Two catches, 44 yards (both completions from Strong) * Romeo Doubs: Two catches, 18 yards (a 4-yard out and 14-yard cross)

* Carson Strong: 6-of-11, 67 yards, one interception (five series leading to zero points, although one drive ended with 24-yard missed field goal and another ended in opponent's territory at the end of the third quarter possession changed at the end of each quarter) Here is how each Wolf Pack player faired in Saturday's Senior Bowl.
